  I'm not one to have intense spiritual experiences and holy site after holy site in Israel didn't experience one....until the Garden Tomb. There's a variety of factors that contributed to the experience: 1) The fact that this is likely where Jesus was buried and rose from the dead. There are two spots in Jerusalem believed to house Jesus' body, but according to the Bible this one is the most credible location. That alone adds to the experience. 2) The guides do a fantastic experience of giving you the history of the garden tomb as well as stewarding a spiritual experience. Our guide was a British pastor and allowed us to take communion together before entering the tomb. The entrance is free to give everyone the opportunity to experience the tomb. 3) Through the property, tourists from around the world are gathering and singing in their own tongues. it shows how global the Christian church really is. 4) There are plenty of secluded corners to go off into if you need some alone time to reflect. 5) The gift shop is helpful and NOT overpriced. It feels good that they aren't trying to exploit the garden tomb's meaning. If you're in Jerusalem, visit the Garden Tomb, even if you aren't a follower of Jesus.

  במזרח העיר, 3 דקות הליכה ממערב העיר, מקום שאולי ישו קבור בו. גן מטופח ויפה מאוד, כניסה חינם. קבוצות מגיעות מקצוות העולם להתפלל ולשיר. מתאים לחצי שעה סיור.
