Melo Place
::An ancient synagogue dating back 2000+ years, also mentioned in the New Testament; groups come to tour or to worship. When we were there, a group of Jews prayed within the ancient synagogue, while mass took place around the corner.

::שרידי ישוב יהודי מהתקופה הרומית והביזנטית. עיקר השרידים מהמאה הרביעית לספירה: מבנה בית כנסת מפואר ובו עיטורים מרשימים, מבני מגורים המסודרים ברבעים, מקווה טהרה ומתקנים חקלאיים. היישוב ממוקם על שלוחה הפונה דרומה, וממנה תצפית לאגן הכנרת ולסביבתה. בתחום הגן הלאומי עצי שיזף גדולים, אלון תבור ושפני סלע רבים.

::A very 'must see' place. When Jesus said that this place would be desolate, He meant it. Black stone, hot and barren. There is a water spring and there were some bees buzzing around. The view from the top of the hill is wonderful. Interestingly enough, the site is only a few metres above sea level. I do not remember, just by how much though. (homework :)
