::A special building in the Old City of Nazareth that was built as a hostel, a school and a clinic for Russian pilgrims and pilgrims who came to visit the nearby St. Gabriel Church. The building was erected in 1904 by the Russian Provoslav Association in Israel and designed by Gottlieb Schumacher, and was therefore given the name "Moscow" after Moscow. During World War I, pilgrims from Russia stopped arriving and the building passed to the British and then to the state. It was housed in the Magistrate's Court building and a post office and now houses a police station. A beautiful architectural structure that is nice to be impressed by when touring ancient Nazareth, but its level of maintenance and preservation is lacking. Hopefully this will change in the future.
