Israel Museum, at Jerusalem were founded in 1965. Its one of the most interesting museum with several Permanent exhibitions in there, providing with English audio guides . Also they have there inside the museum : THE SHRINE OF THE BOOK, if you go to visit one museum , ended up visiting both , because the admission fee is for both places. One is inside the other. THE ISRAEL MUSEUM, is one of largest cultural institution in Israel and one of the world's top archaeology and Art museum. You can find there many extensive collections of

Holy treasure but horrible staffs. I went to the Israel Museum with my wife last Sunday(22. Apr. 2018) I was looking around the gallery with my wife. Exactly at 16:45, there was announcement. The museum would be closed at 17:00. So I walked so fast to see the paintings that I didn't see. But one of your staff blocked in the middle of the hall, not allowing us to see anymore. When my wife started taking picture, he pushed my wife and block the camera lens on his hand. To solve this problem, we spent 5 minutes talking. I ran another room with my wife. One of the staff blocked in front us, too. He told me it was closed. It was not 17: 00. In my country, Korean no one can imagine this situation. But I tried to understand the old man who wanted to go home quickly after closing. So I said to him, " I don't want to go inside, I just take a picture in front of the entrance. But he shouted " No, It is close", touching to block the camera lens.(I think the old man stupid enough to know the price of the camera. I am not sure my camera lens works well, now.) To argue with him, we couldn't take pictures. Only picture, I wanted but I couldn't. How can you explain? Fifteen minutes was enough to finish my journey in Israel Museum. But two staffs ruined everything. They never apologized. I wrote email to the museum twice, but they did not answer me. Crazy and rude. I found the hand blocking me on my photo.

Too good. The archaeology section is the most interesting with ancient Roman, Greek and Persian artifacts discovered in Israel. The ticket comes with an audio guide. Before coming check for timings of free guided tour in your language of preference from the museum website. Since the museum is huge, the guided tour gives a good overview of the history of Israel in about 1.5 hours.

Great museum to visit while in Jerusalem. You can easily pass 2-3 hours learning about the history of this region of the world. The layout is well made and the exhibits progressively show you the different periods of the region. Audio guides are available and would recommend since it provides very useful information.

Lovely museum. Free audio guide is very useful with lots of 1-2 minute commentaries on the main pieces in each room. Very easy to spend a few hours drifting around a couple of the galleries and still leave feeling there was much more to see. The archeological area gave a nice chronological story all the way up to modern times. The art garden offers some fabulous sculptures with views across Jerusalem. The Dead Sea Scrolls (or at least a few pages) are a must-see, even if the main scroll is just a facsimile.
