  The Kotel aka the Western Wall is an amazing place. Often called the Wailing Wall, The Kotel is the remnants of The Second Jewish Temple's western retaining wall. It is an awe inspiring site. Historically a place of reverence for Jews, many people go to up to The Western Wall to pray, be inspired, and connect to God. Please note that on Friday nights and Saturday day photographs, smoking, cell phone use, and note writing are prohibited.Modest dress and a head covering are mandatory. It is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Objects that are prohibited are glass bottles, musical instruments, and of course weapons of any type. Also note that the area is considered a Jewish house of prayer. Large symbols of any faith other than Judaism must be worn inside.
