  No doubt the tale that each object in this room tells is compelling, to say the least, as this place holds in 1 small room more history than entire museums do. You will hear stories about the early days of Israeli media, stories about the Holocaust, beautiful illustrations made by the creative Joseph Bau and incredible relics from a bygone era. This is a place that marks the importance of optimism and persistence in face of great danger.

  יוסף באו היה אמן רב תחומי שעבד ויצר בסטודיו קטן בסמוך לתיאטרון הבימה החל משנת 1960. באו, ניצול שואה ומניצולי אוסקר שינדלר, עלה ארצה עם חלום לעשות אנימציה בארץ הקודש. הוא פתח כאן סטודיו לגרפיקה ובו עיצב כותרות לסרטי קולנוע, כרזות פרסום צבעוניות וסמלים ייחודים. כמו כן בנה במו ידיו קולנוע קטן וציוד צילום שבעזרתו יצר סרטים מצוירים. במקביל ניהל חיים סודיים כגרפיקאי הראשי של "המוסד" וזייף בין השאר מסמכים ותעודות למרגלים. כיום מתוחזק הסטודיו הקטן על ידי בנותיו של באו ומשמש כמוזיאון בו ניתן לחזות ביצירותיו: קולנוע, אנימציה, ציור, גרפיקה, ומחקר הלשון העברית, המתובלים כולם בהומור על פי השקפת עולמו האופטימית.

  מהמוזיאונים ואתרי המורשת שאתם לא מכירים, ואולי גם לא תזכו להכיר אם לא נשמור עליו. מקום קסום ומקסים, הסטודיו המקורי של יוסף באו, ניצול שואה וראשון הגרפיקאים והאנימטורים בישראל, שמנוהל על ידי בנותיו . עשו לעצמכם טובה, תרימו טלפון לצלילה או הדסה, קחו את הילדים, ההורים, האחים או החברים, ובואו לסיור. כי אולי בקרוב כבר לא יהיה....

  Amazing. Interesting, very funny, emotional and a lot more. Hard to explain in words. Highly recommended for everyone. Amazing story about a very special man (Joseph Bau) about his life story, his inventions, art, jokes, Hebrew language analysis and a lot more.

  A must see. Stopped in randomly and was greeted by Joseph's daughters. They welcomed me as if I were family and shared the wonderful story of their parents Joseph and Rebecca. Very unique and fascinating art. Truly a unique experience.
