::A good place to sho
jhgreenstein
::I buy there regularly because it’s on one of my weekly routes. The place is a bit like an out-door shuk being laid out in a partially covered courtyard. Parking is pretty good in the area. There’s a rough-ground parking lot a little further down Golomb street or you can park on the road. I guess also in the Supersol car park which it borders. The prices of the fruit and vegetables are similar to the large supermarkets but the quality is often poor and they don’t always have the basics like cucumbers. To be fair, the Osher Ad supermarket also puts out rotten produce. Something I don’t get is why supermarkets and this store don’t lower the price of vegetables that have gone soft, like tomatoes. In other countries they would sell them off cheaply as cooking tomatoes but here they just let them rot. The atmosphere in the shop is a bit rude even vulgar and prices are often missing or misplaced. The check-outs are reasonable for Israel. In other words no separation between customers so mistakes happen. Actually mistakes happen too often and I have asked for and received refunds on a number of occasions. Covid masks are worn by most of the workers except those who are refilling the shelves and screaming at each other in shuk style. You need to keep your distance from them and check that your own mask is on properly. I always take a dettol wipe with me.
